1918 Influenza Pandemic

  • In 2000 a professor from UW Oshkosh, Teri Shors, had a group of students who were researching the 1918 influenza pandemic. Helen Jelinske, formerly of Couillardville, contacted the professor to share her experience of the illness. The two struck up a friendship. In time the ABC TV affiliate in Milwaukee did a story on the flu and interviewed her on camera for a two night news highlight on the evening news.
