Memorial Gifts and Bequests

Any individual may leave a bequest to the Oconto County Historical Society. A bequest is a gift made through a donor’s will and is free from federal estate tax. Please consider the Oconto County Historical Society in your estate planning. Memorial gifts and bequests are an excellent way to make a meaningful contribution to help preserve and share Oconto County’s rich history. If you wish to make a provision in your will, the following general form is suggested:
I give to Oconto County Historical Society, a Wisconsin non-profit corporation, located at 915 Park Avenue, Oconto, Wisconsin 54153, the sum of $_____________ or __ % of the residue of my estate (or specifically described property) for general purposes.

Endowment

You can make a gift to our endowment that will support the Oconto County Historical Society and its mission into perpetuity by contributing to the endowment fund. Contributing to the endowment fund will support and protect our organization which serves the community for future generations. Donating Stocks and Bonds

Individuals may avoid paying capital gains taxes by donating stocks and bonds to the Oconto County Historical Society. Donors are entitled to a charitable income tax reduction equal to the full market value of the stock. Please check with your financial advisor.

Life Income Agreement

A life income agreement allows you to make a substantial capital gift to the Oconto County Historical Society while retaining your income for your lifetime and/or additional beneficiaries. Life income agreements include Pooled Life Income Funds, Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts.
