This group was organized in October of 1861 at the second company out of Oconto County. At Camp Randall in Madison it became Co. F of the 12th Wisconsin Regiment. The Company proceeded to the western front in Kansas, to Vicksburg for that city’s siege and surrender, and then east to join Sherman’s march to the sea.
